Sports Report
April was a busy month with badminton. Grades 5-6 attended a divisional tournament in Treherne, and Grade 8 went to Westmount in Swan Lake. Congratulations on a fine effort from everyone.
Track and Field is just around the corner and so our Phys. Ed. Classes will be focusing on the basics of running, jumping and throwing.
We will be heading to Holland on Friday May 21st for a K-8 track meet. This will serve as a warm up for the Grades 5-8 as they will be attending a divisional track meet at the beginning of June.
April has been a busy month, with the school being used for a number of after-school activities. It’s great to see our facilities being used! Thanks to Mr. Brunel for coordinating his schedule to accommodate the user groups.
Our Grades 4 to 8 have been learning some good cooking skills the past few months. Our thanks to Marcie and Darlene, our parent volunteers who worked with the kids.
The Grade K-3 class will be going to the Children’s Festival in Winnipeg on Friday, June 11th. Grade 4-8 students are going on an overnight trip to Spruce Woods, possibly June 17-18th.
We will be holding our Graduation and Awards Day on Tuesday, June 29th at 1:00. Watch for further information.
April 22nd was the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. Our students gathered garbage around town and cleaned up the circle field across from the school. Students who gathered garbage were very surprised at how much there was. We encourage all to not litter!
We are starting to plan for next year! Only 2 months left for this school year! We are pleased to be welcoming 7 new Kindergarten students.
The Plant Sale will be held on Saturday, May 15th from 6:30 p.m. -9:30 p.m. The Parent Advisory will be serving pie & coffee before and after the 7:30 p.m. mass. There will also be a silent auction. All proceeds from the plant sale and silent auction will be sent to the Hesu School in Ethiopia.
